Pokémon TCG MEGA 30th Celebration [M6a] launches as the centrepiece expansion celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
The original Pokémon Card Game debuted in Japan in 1996, making 2026 the official 30th Anniversary year.
Rather than focusing exclusively on a particular region or generation, 30th Celebration looks across the entire history of the Pokémon TCG while also introducing brand-new artwork, mechanics and premium card treatments.
Booster Box Contents
Each Pokémon TCG MEGA: 30th Celebration [M6a] Japanese Booster Box contains:
- 20 × 30th Celebration Booster Packs
- 6 holographic cards per Booster Pack
- 120 holographic cards across the Booster Box
- 1 of 30 special Pikachu cards guaranteed in every pack
- 1 specially designed Basic Energy card guaranteed in every pack
Cards are randomly inserted. Specific Pikachu designs, Pokémon, rarities or premium cards are not guaranteed beyond the officially stated pack inclusions.
Every Card Is Holographic
30th Celebration isn't structured like a conventional Japanese Pokémon booster expansion.
Each booster pack contains:
6 Holographic Cards
That means every card pulled from an M6a booster pack features a holographic treatment.
Across a complete 20-pack Booster Box, collectors receive 120 holographic cards, making the anniversary release a particularly premium pack-opening experience.
30 Pikachu Cards by 30 Different Artists
One of the defining features of 30th Celebration is an enormous tribute to Pokémon's most recognisable character:
Pikachu.
To celebrate the Pokémon TCG's 30th Anniversary, 30 different illustrators have each created their own Pikachu card.
The result is:
30 Artists. 30 Pikachu Illustrations. 30 Anniversary Cards.
Each artist brings their own distinctive visual style to Pikachu, creating a collection that celebrates not only the Pokémon itself but also the illustrators who have helped shape the visual history of the Pokémon TCG.
Even better, every M6a booster pack contains:
1 guaranteed Pikachu card from the 30-card collection.
That makes the Pikachu collection one of the central collecting challenges of the entire 30th Celebration expansion.
20 Guaranteed Pikachu Cards Per Booster Box
With one Pikachu card guaranteed inside every booster pack, a sealed 20-pack Booster Box contains:
20 Pikachu cards across the box.
These are randomly selected from the collection of 30 different Pikachu illustrations, so duplicates may occur and a Booster Box is not guaranteed to contain 20 different designs.
For Pikachu collectors, however, the format provides a unique opportunity to open an entire Booster Box centred around Pokémon's iconic mascot.
30 Years of Pokémon TCG History
30th Celebration doesn't simply look forward—it also celebrates the cards that defined the Pokémon TCG's first three decades.
The expansion includes 30 specially treated cards representing different periods throughout Pokémon TCG history.
These cards revisit memorable Pokémon and Trainer cards from generations of the game, stretching all the way back to the original Japanese Pokémon Card Game.
The historical selection includes iconic cards and characters such as:
